PayGo customer, Consumers Energy, is experiencing significant growth in their prepay program. In this video, Carrie Harkness, Program Manager of Consumers Energy — New Customer Programs, talks about their PrePay solution whereby customers can pay for anticipated energy use via text, online portal or phone. The prepayment program gives customers control, provides line of sight into usage and opens up new payment opportunities all while utilizing billing and consumption information from smart meters.
Consumers Energy, Michigan’s largest utility, provides natural gas and electricity to 6.7 million of the state’s 10 million residents in all 68 Lower Peninsula counties.
