AT&T* is expanding its leadership in smart grid by offering prepaid applications that help manage energy usage and reduce costs. Through an exclusive agreement with PayGo®, AT&T will be the sole U.S. provider for PayGo’s utility payment solutions which includes near real-time processing of meter information for prepaid services.
PayGo from AT&T empowers consumers to pay their energy bill how they want, when they want and virtually anywhere they want using smartphones, text messages, kiosks, the internet or by phone. PayGo from AT&T offers:
Convenient payment options including post-pay solutions, a gift card, as well as energy efficiency programs.
Near real-time data capabilities that enable customers to monitor usage and that help utilities with outage, restoration, and other notifications, while reducing operational costs.
In addition to consumer convenience that pre-payment allows, a recent study indicates Pre-Pay energy savings of as high as 11% annually[1].
“We’re expanding our smart grid solutions to better serve utilities across the country – offering much more than wireless connectivity,” said Mike Troiano, Vice President, Advanced Mobility Solutions, AT&T Business Solutions. “With the introduction of PayGo from AT&T, utilities can offer more convenient options for payment while also helping their customers to monitor their overall energy consumption.”
“PayGo enhances consumer engagement and satisfaction, while delivering sustainable cost savings and control for utilities and their consumers. With the combination of AT&T’s leadership and PayGo’s technology solutions, consumers and utilities will both enjoy significant benefits for smart grid investments in the U.S.,” said Jeffrey Weiser, CEO of PayGo.
